Seth Barwick

Many of you have walked through the last 5 years with us, supporting us in many ways and praying for our family continuously. Seth has come so far in his recovery and has accomplished some very significant short term goals with passion and determination. After two years of nearly 24 hour care Seth went back to finish his last year of college at High Point University and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business. Immediately after graduating he was offered an internship to work at the Atlantic Coast Conference corporate offices for four months. That exciting opportunity turned into a one and a half year long experience. Though these accomplishments are miracles in themselves, Seth must once again turn his focus back to the physical fight at hand, the road to walk again.

Upon finishing his internship in March, Seth hopes to go to a comprehensive brain and spinal cord injury facility for a three month long intensive “Race to Walk” program.  At the facility in Mooresville, NC he would be under the direct care of occupational and physical therapists. As Seth’s parents we were very excited to find that there was a place that offers hope of walking again to Seth, but his needed rehabilitation and adaptation expenses will not be covered by his limited insurance.

 To assist with the immense challenge of financing uninsured therapies, home modifications and other injury-related expenses, a fundraising campaign in Seth’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for Seth’s injury-related expenses only.
