Murderball: Not for the Weak
NewsNBC 10 Philadelphia recently featured NTAF board member Lauren DeBruicker, a member of The Magee Eagles wheelchair rugby team. DeBruicker sustained a spinal cord injury in an automobile accident 19 years ago. She began playing wheelchair rugby (a.k.a quad rugby or murderball) about a year ago. The Magee Eagles recently played Rowan University’s able-bodied rugby team in a demonstration game.

NTAF Meets BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards of Accountability
NewsBBB Wise Giving Alliance found that NTAF meets all 20 of the Alliance's Standards of Accountability. The standards were developed to promote ethical conduct by charitable organizations. Charities are evaluated every two years. NTAF was recently evaluated in January 2010.

Dave Denniston will represent the United States as a co-captain for the U.S. Paralympic Swim Team at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing this September.
Dave returns to the sport, just a few years following a sledding accident that rendered him paralyzed from the waist down. Prior to his injury, Dave was a competitive able-bodied swimmer, who came just shy of qualifying for the 2004 Olympic Games.

NTAF honored Fox29 weekday co-anchor Dave Huddleston with an NTAF Community Hero Award at this year's luncheon for his selfless contributions to the transplant community. Huddleston is a bone marrow donor (he donated his marrow twice for a 17-year-old leukemia patient) and board member of the NMDP.
