NTAF Local "Hero" Finds Another Match at Annual Drive

NTAF Local Hero Award recipient Coach Andrew Talley was successful in finding another match this April through his 16th Annual Villanova Football Bone Marrow Testing Program.
Blake Shubert, Villanova Wildcat linebacker, was found to be a match for a 28-year-old mother of three suffering from cancer. He will donate this summer.
This match marks the third since the drive’s start—Talley started the drive in 1992—and second Wildcat match this season. Joe Marcoux, also an NTAF honoree at this year’s ODA Luncheon, donated bone marrow in the fall to a 53-year-old mother of three. Unfortunately, the recipient recently relapsed, but Marcoux is stepping up to donate a second time.
Talley’s drive has resulted in the placement of 3,500 potential donors on the international registry list.
