NATIONAL TRANSPLANT ASSISTANCE FUND & CATASTROPHIC INJURY PROGRAM (NTAF) RECEIVES $35,000 GRANT FROM THE PHILADELPHIA FOUNDATION FOR
BOARD TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES
RADNOR, Pa. – The National Transplant Assistance Fund & Catastrophic Injury Program (NTAF), at 150 N. Radnor Chester Road in Radnor, received a $35,000 grant from the Shirley and Morrison C. Boyd Fund, Ira Jewell Williams Fund, and Elizabeth Jamison O’Brien Fund of The Philadelphia Foundation to support Board training and technology upgrades for financial efficiency. Announcement of the grant was made by R. Andrew Swinney, President of The Philadelphia Foundation, whose Board of Managers approved the grant in February.
Lynne C. Samson, NTAF Executive Director, said the funds would be used to benefit NTAF patients by streamlining NTAF financial operations.
“We are deeply indebted to The Philadelphia Foundation for its longstanding support of our organization, which helps many local patients afford critical but uninsured medical care,” said Samson. “With health insurance availability declining, we have seen the demand for our services steeply escalate over the last several years. Only with the help of The Philadelphia Foundation have we been able to grow our capacity to serve at the same rate as we have grown.”
NTAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps transplant patients and individuals living with catastrophic injury afford critical but uninsured medical expenses through fundraising guidance, patient resources and support and financial assistance. Established in 1983 by Villanova residents Dr. Jack and Patricia Kolff, NTAF has helped patients (nationwide) raise $58 million for medical care otherwise unaffordable.
