NTAF SURPASSES ITS GOAL OF REGISTERING 250 POTENTIAL BONE MARROW DONORS TO THE NATIONAL MARROW DONOR PROGRAM (NMDP) REGISTRY IN SUPPORT OF ITS SAVE A LIFE INITIATIVE

RADNOR, Pa. — NTAF surpassed its goal of registering 250 potential bone marrow donors to the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry in support of its Save a Life Initiative.

NTAF launched the Save a Life Initiative—a year-long commitment to educate the local community about the importance of bone marrow donation, with a goal of registering 250 potential donors to the NMDP Registry— in October 2007, as a fitting means to commemorate its 25th anniversary (October 2008).

In support of this effort, NTAF held a series of “Lunch and Learns” in the local and corporate community, and held four bone marrow donor registration drives throughout suburban Philadelphia, from October 2007 to April 2008.

Through its efforts, NTAF educated 1,150 local community members about the importance of bone marrow donation and registered 293 potential bone marrow donors to the NMDP Registry.
