Why HelpHOPELive?
Compassionate Support
HelpHOPELive helps patients organize, launch and sustain successful fundraising campaigns based on the kind of support network and special events available in their home communities.
In addition to step-by-step guidance, HelpHOPELive offers: a Web page for each patient on our website for online donations and social sharing; guidance in dealing with the media; and free resources such as appeal letters, Tribute Gift and Gift-In-Kind Forms, flyers and more.
Funds raised come to HelpHOPELive where they are held in Regional Restricted Funds in honor of the patient, for the region where the patient lives, together with other funds raised in that region.
Once fundraising is underway and a HelpHOPELive Patient Application has been completed, patients (or an authorized individual) can submit requests for payment/reimbursement of expenses on a weekly basis. HelpHOPELive provides a lists of donors for fundraising campaigns and tax receipts for donations of more than $250.
Extensive patient assistance
- Since inception in 1983, HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF) has disbursed more than $70 million to pay for patients' out-of-pocket medically related expenses.
Snap Shot of Fiscal Year 2011 (October 1, 2010 - September 30, 2011):
- Paid more than $6.5 million in uninsured expenses for more than 1,300 patients - $3.5 million for transplant-related expenses.
- Launched 543 new fundraising campaigns in honor of transplant patients.
